FAQS

Q - What does working together look like?

  1. Reach out via the contact form and tell me about your project, where it will end up, for how long and any imminent deadlines (the more info I have the better).

  2. Send through your script and you’ll receive a custom demo if needed with a quote based on your project needs.

  3. Agree a fee and your preferred recording option. I can carry out a self-directed session or we can schedule a live session over your preferred dial in host (Source Connect, Zoom, Google Meets etc).

  4. I’ll follow up with your files along with an invoice.

Q - What are your fees?

Clients, projects and budgets come in all shapes and sizes so I treat all project fees on a per project basis. If you would like a quote, get in touch with your project brief and I’ll get back to you with a figure asap.

Q - How long does it take?

Once I have your go ahead to record the script, I will turn around the recording within 24 hours. Finished recordings for scripts submitted on a Friday after 1pm (UK time) will be delivered by the end of the following Monday. If you need the recording sooner, just send me a message and let me know the situation. I always do my best to accommodate the needs of the project.

Q - What’s your pick ups / amendments policy?

  • I offer one round of pickups due to tone or delivery free of charge, further pickups include a fee. Issues with audio are extremely rare, but if they occur, they are amended promptly, free of charge.

  • Further recording needed due to script changes made after the agreed script has been received are chargeable.

Q - Where can I use the finished voice over?

Voice over licensing is referred to as ‘usage’. If the end content will be used internally within a company setting (for a presentation or conference for example), then the usage is included in the artist’s BSF (Basic Session Fee - an hourly rate set by the artist). For public facing content (Online, Television, Podcasts etc), a usage fee must be agreed upon. Usage is calculated based on the artist’s BSF in combination with other factors relating to how it will be used and how many people are likely to encounter it. Under UK law, the agreed usage becomes active upon the payment of the invoice. For more info on voice over usage, you can check out the official rate calculator for global VO usage at rates.gravyforthebrain.com or reach out to me directly for a quote.

Q - What kind of Audio will I receive?

I can send you the final audio files raw with no audio processing or a finished broadcast quality recording (with the removal of breaths, mouth clicks and any loose plosives), mixed down and mastered. It is totally up to you. My studio specs can be viewed here along with a raw studio audio sample for your reference. I can deliver the vast majority of professional audio formats but the most commonly requested are WAV and MP3.
