Rate card / Terms and Conditions

Guidelines!

  • Voice-over rates are based on a number of variables: the medium (eg. radio, television, internet), the market (eg. local, national, international), the length, the nature, and the use of the audio;

  • Rates can be determined per project, length of script, or per word;

  • The more specific you are about what your project needs, the easier it is to give you an informed quote, and the read you need;

  • The prices below are “starting at” rates.

  • I'm always happy to provide a free custom demo read before confirming a booking!

  • Turnaround of files will be made within 24 hours for ‘self directed’ orders once your final script has been received and approved.

My basic session fee (starting fee, also known as BSF) is £230.  This is an hourly rate and refers to the fee for the service of recording the voice over. This has VAT already included, and also covers:

  • Recording, editing and producing the voice over to a broadcast quality standard.

  • Studio hire.

  • Non-broadcast' usage: internal / eLearning.

  • Retakes in case of errors.

  • One round of revisions related to performance

  • Option live recording session via dial in host of your choice (Source Connect,  Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams etc).

  • Delivery of voice over recordings in broadcast-quality WAV format (other formats available upon request).

If you need the session files edited, mixed and mastered to a broadcast standard, there is an additional £55 charge on top of the BSF (1 hour BSF at £230 + editing, mixing and mastering £55 = £285).

Usage

For public facing content (web videos, TV, radio etc), usage may be added on top. As referenced above, Voiceover Usage fees are calculated based on a number of factors such as the nature of the end content, where the content will be placed, for how long, weather or not there will be paid media involved and how many people are likely to encounter it. The industry standard guidelines for online voice over usage in the UK can be found via https://rates.gravyforthebrain.com/ . Under UK law usage comes into effect upon payment of the invoiced work. All usage fees are end client, project and budget dependant so the more info you are able to provide, the easier it is to quote.

E-Learning Content

Fees for E-learning projects are calculated per word: Raw audio at £0.10 per word, edited audio at £0.17 per word, and edited audio with separated file creation at £0.20 per word. The minimum order amount is £230. Usage fees do not apply to E-learning projects.

Payment - Terms and Conditions:

Once my services have been officially engaged, the agreed fee is payable within 30 days of invoice via bank transfer. Payment via Paypal must be agreed in advance, and  will incur a 6% charge to cover their fees.

Late Payment:

If you think payment could take longer than 30 days, then this must be agreed to in advance. If outstanding payment exceeds thirty days without prior agreement, fees will be applied to the total as per the Late Payment of Commercial Debt Act of 2002.

Revisions - Terms and Conditions:

With self-directed sessions, I will normally send you a sample to approve, or ask you to cite one of my previous projects or demos as a guide to how you want me to voice your project.

Assuming that the approach has been agreed - if you aren't 100% happy with the submitted recording afterwards, I offer one round of revisions due to artistic performance free of charge. Changes to the script as well as further rounds of revisions are charged at £120 for anything less that 50 words, anything above is treated as a new session and billed at the BSF (£230 per hour).

With directed sessions (where you have listened in and provided feedback during the recording), I will give you a copy of every take recorded during the session, so you can pick and choose what you want. We will have agreed in advance how long the session should be to cover everything in your project, and confirmed a price accordingly. If the session necessitates going over the agreed time, then I will charge according to my basic studio fee rate of £230 per hour unless verbally agreed during the session. This would be a minimum of £60 for up to 15 minutes, £120 for an extra half hour, or payment for the full hour for any longer.

If you are still unsure of anything or have specific questions, just send me a message using the form below and we’ll discuss the specific needs of your project.
